Ingredients

For the Alfredo Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons butter – Adds a rich creamy base.
  • 2 garlic cloves minced – For that bold, aromatic flavor.
  • 1 cup heavy cream – Creates the luxurious texture Alfredo sauce is known for.
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese – Adds nutty salty goodness.
  • Salt and pepper to taste – Enhances all the flavors.

For the Chicken Mixture:

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken – Rotisserie chicken works wonderfully as a shortcut.
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese shredded – Melts beautifully for that gooey texture.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped – Optional, for a pop of color and freshness.

For the Garlic Bread:

  • 1 large loaf of French bread – Sliced lengthwise to hold all the delicious toppings.
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted – Brushed on for a golden, buttery crust.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder – Infuses every bite with garlic flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning – Brings a touch of herby goodness.
  • Additional mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for topping – Because extra cheese is always a good idea!

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Alfredo Sauce

  • In a medium saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
  • Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously, and bring it to a gentle simmer.
  • Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese, letting it melt completely into the sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the Garlic Bread

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the loaf of French bread lengthwise and place both halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Brush this mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread.

Step 3: Assemble the Chicken Alfredo Mixture

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, prepared Alfredo sauce, and ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese. Stir until the mixture is evenly coated.
  • Spread the chicken Alfredo mixture evenly over the garlic buttered bread halves.

Step 4: Add the Toppings

  • Sprinkle additional mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top for an extra cheesy finish.
  • For a fresh touch, sprinkle with a bit of chopped parsley (optional).

Step 5: Bake to Perfection

  • Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  • For an extra crispy top, switch to the broil setting for the last 2 minutes—just keep a close eye on it!

Step 6: Slice and Serve

  • Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a minute or two.
  • Slice into individual portions and serve immediately. Pair it with a side salad, pasta, or enjoy it on its own!
